SOP: Granting Access
Purpose
This SOP explains how clients can securely grant delegated access to their GoDaddy account so a consultant can manage domains, DNS, and hosting settings—without sharing personal login credentials.
1. Log in to GoDaddy
- Visit GoDaddy.com
- Click Sign In (top right)
- Enter your username and password
2. Navigate to Delegate Access
- Once logged in, click your profile icon (top right)
- Select Account Settings
- Scroll down and choose Delegate Access
3. Invite Designer (4Adventure Media)
- Under People who can access my account, click Invite to Access
- Enter:
- Name: David Cox
- Email: designer@4adventuremedia.com
- Choose the access level:
- Products & Domains → allows management of domains, DNS, hosting, etc.
- Click Invite
4. Designer Accepts Invitation
- David Cox / 4Adventure Media will receive an email invitation from GoDaddy
- The invitation must be accepted to activate delegated access
- Once accepted, the designer can log in with their own GoDaddy account and manage your domains securely
5. Security & Best Practices
- Never share personal login credentials
- Always use Delegate Access instead of sending usernames/passwords
- You can remove access anytime under the Delegate Access menu
- Periodically review account activity for peace of mind
If you prefer, I can coordinate a quick call while you send the invite.
Thanks!
